What is JEE Main 2027?
JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination — Main) is a national-level computer-based test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate engineering programs (B.E./B.Tech), architecture (B.Arch), and planning (B.Planning) at NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and other centrally funded technical institutions across India. It also serves as the qualifying examination for JEE Advanced, which leads to the prestigious IITs.
JEE Main 2027 will be conducted in two sessions — Session 1 in January 2027 and Session 2 in April 2027. Candidates can appear in either or both sessions; the best NTA Score across all appeared sessions is used for merit list preparation. The 75% criterion applies for admission to NITs/IIITs/GFTIs, not for appearing in JEE Main itself. Admit Card
The JEE Main 2027 Admit Card will be released online on the official NTA portal approximately 7–10 days before the exam. It is not sent by post. Candidates must carry a printed copy to the exam hall along with one valid photo ID.

Result & NTA Score
JEE Main results are declared in the form of NTA Score (Percentile Score), not raw marks. The NTA Score represents the percentage of candidates who scored equal to or below that score in the exam session. It is calculated separately for each session using normalization across multiple shifts.

JEE Main 2027 Counselling
JEE Main qualifiers are eligible to participate in JoSAA Counselling and CSAB Counselling for admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. Exam Languages & Cities
JEE Main is conducted in 13 languages to ensure regional inclusivity. The exam is held across 500+ cities in India and select international locations.
Candidates who choose a regional language receive questions in that language along with English. English and Hindi are available at all exam centres.
JEE Main 2027 Preparation Strategy
Master NCERT First
NCERT books for Class 11 & 12 form the foundation. Complete Chemistry NCERT thoroughly — many questions are directly asked. For Physics and Maths, understand concepts deeply before moving to advanced texts.
Structured Study Plan
Create a timetable covering all 3 subjects daily. Dedicate at least 6–8 hours of focused study. Allocate more time to weakest subjects without neglecting strengths. Revise weekly.
Solve Previous Year Papers
Solve the last 10 years of JEE Main question papers. Understand the type of questions, difficulty distribution, and recurring topics. Focus on high-weightage areas.
Timed Mock Tests
Attempt full-length mock tests in exam-like conditions. Practice time management — allocate ~72 minutes per subject. Review every mistake in detail and learn from errors.
Make Formula Sheets
Maintain concise formula sheets and short notes for quick revision during the final weeks. For Chemistry, prepare topic-wise short notes on reactions and equations.
Focus on High-Weightage Topics
Physics: Mechanics, Electrostatics, Modern Physics. Chemistry: Organic Chemistry, Chemical Bonding, Equilibrium. Maths: Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Algebra. These areas consistently carry the most marks.
Master Numerical Questions
Section B has no negative marking — never leave these blank after preparation. Practice numericals from DC Pandey, RD Sharma, and JD Lee extensively.
Take Care of Health
Sleep 7–8 hours daily, eat well, and take short breaks every 1.5–2 hours. Mental well-being is crucial for long-term preparation. Meditate or exercise to stay focused and reduce anxiety.
