Marking Scheme & Raw Score Calculation Formula
NTA implements negative marking across both Section A (Multiple Choice Questions) and Section B (Numerical Value Questions) in B.E. / B.Tech (Paper 1):
Maximum possible marks = 300 (75 questions attempted out of 90 total questions; 25 per Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics).
Dropped Questions & Ambiguity Rules
| Question Type | Scenario | Marking Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| Section A (MCQ) | Question dropped / faulty options | +4 Marks to ALL candidates who appeared in that shift. |
| Section A (MCQ) | Two options found correct | +4 Marks to candidates who marked either of the correct options. |
| Section B (Numerical) | Question dropped / flawed data | +4 Marks ONLY to candidates who attempted that question. |
