1. Select Question ID

In your candidate portal, check the box next to the Question ID you wish to challenge in Section A or Section B.

2. Choose Claimed Option

Select the option ID you claim is correct. For numerical questions, enter your calculated value.

4. Pay Processing Fee

Expert Evaluation: If a challenge is accepted by the panel of subject experts, the key is revised across all shifts. Benefit is automatically extended to all eligible candidates, even if they didn't personally challenge the question.

Marking Scheme & Raw Score Calculation Formula

NTA implements negative marking across both Section A (Multiple Choice Questions) and Section B (Numerical Value Questions) in B.E. / B.Tech (Paper 1):

+4
Correct Response
-1
Incorrect Response (MCQ & NAT)
0
Unattempted / Marked for Review
JEE Main Raw Score Formula
Total Raw Score = (Total Correct × 4) - (Total Incorrect × 1)

Maximum possible marks = 300 (75 questions attempted out of 90 total questions; 25 per Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics).

Dropped Questions & Ambiguity Rules

Question Type Scenario Marking Resolution
Section A (MCQ) Question dropped / faulty options +4 Marks to ALL candidates who appeared in that shift.
Section A (MCQ) Two options found correct +4 Marks to candidates who marked either of the correct options.
Section B (Numerical) Question dropped / flawed data +4 Marks ONLY to candidates who attempted that question.
