Overview of JoSAA & CSAB Participating Colleges
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) conducts unified online counselling for seat allocation across India's premier technical institutions: the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), 26 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and 38+ Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs).
Admissions to IITs require candidates to qualify JEE Main and subsequently crack the JEE Advanced examination. Admissions to all NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs are administered strictly on the basis of candidates' All India Ranks (CRL & Category Ranks) in JEE Main Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) or Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning).
Counselling Schedule Tip: JoSAA administers 6 unified rounds of counselling. Following JoSAA, the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) conducts 2 Special Rounds for any residual seats in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. You can use our College Predictor to simulate your chances across all 118+ institutes.

5 MHRD/MoE-Funded IIITs
100% centrally funded government institutions offering subsidized fees, extensive central research grants, and high academic prestige:
- IIIT Allahabad (Jhalwa, UP)
- ABV-IIITM Gwalior (MP)
- PDPM IIITDM Jabalpur (MP)
- IIITDM Kancheepuram (Chennai, TN)
- IIITDM Kurnool (AP)
21 Public-Private Partnership (PPP) IIITs
Co-founded by Central Gov (50%), State Gov (35%), and industry partners (15%) like TCS, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra. High placement focus in tech domains:
