Overview of JEE Advanced 2027 Counselling
Securing a rank in JEE Advanced qualifies candidates for admission into India's premier 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Seat allocation for all IITs is managed through the centralized JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) portal.
Unlike the NIT+ system, admission to IITs has distinct regulatory frameworks: there is no state domicile quota (all seats are 100% All India Quota), and IITs never participate in CSAB Special Rounds. If a candidate misses choice locking or forfeits an IIT seat during JoSAA, no subsequent spot round exists to reclaim that seat.
Critical IIT JoSAA Rule: If you accept an IIT seat and fail to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee or fail to complete document verification, you will be rejected from all subsequent JoSAA rounds. Any unfilled seats in IITs after the final JoSAA round are left vacant permanently.

Eligibility Criteria for IIT Seat Allocation
Securing an All India Rank (AIR) in JEE Advanced is the primary requirement, but applicants must also fulfill strict performance and board criteria:
JEE Advanced 2027 Merit Rank
