Official Joint Admission Board (JAB) Qualifying Criteria
To be included in the rank list of JEE Advanced, a candidate must satisfy both the minimum subject-wise percentage in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics AND the minimum aggregate percentage:
| Rank List | Min. % in Each Subject | Min. Marks per Subject (out of 120) | Min. % in Aggregate | Min. Aggregate Marks (out of 360) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Common Rank List (CRL) | 8.68% | 10 Marks | 30.34% | 109 Marks |
| GEN-EWS Rank List | 7.83% | 9 Marks | 27.30% | 98 Marks |
| OBC-NCL Rank List | 7.83% | 9 Marks | 27.30% | 98 Marks |
| SC Rank List | 4.34% | 5 Marks | 15.17% | 54 Marks |
| ST Rank List | 4.34% | 5 Marks | 15.17% | 54 Marks |
| PwD Rank List | 4.34% | 5 Marks | 15.17% | 54 Marks |
Both Conditions Mandatory: Even if a candidate scores 220 marks in aggregate, failure to secure the minimum threshold (e.g. at least 10 marks in Physics for CRL) will disqualify the candidate from being ranked in that list.

Official JEE Advanced Tie-Breaking Protocol
If two or more candidates obtain identical aggregate scores in JEE Advanced, the following tie-breaking sequence is invoked to determine rank priority:
- Higher Positive Marks: The candidate with higher positive marks across both Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be given a higher rank.
- Higher Marks in Mathematics: If positive marks are equal, the candidate with higher total marks in Mathematics receives the higher rank.
- Higher Marks in Physics: If Mathematics marks are also equal, Physics marks are evaluated.
- Identical Rank Allotment: If all the above parameters remain equal, the candidates are awarded the same rank (shared rank).
